Happy New year! I hope that everyone had wonderful holidays! Our Christmas and new year was wonderful! We drove to Utah and were able to see most of the Bob and Linda clan, which was wonderful. From there we flew to Colorado. Denver LOVED flying he can't talking about it and his eyes get huge when he says airplane! All of us Steve and Ann Macbeth's were there for Christmas which was wonderful! It had been over a year and half since we'd been back and it was the first time for many of my family to meet Porter. Christmas was great fun! Denver and Porter had SO much fun with their darling cousins! Jessica's four year old Julia, decided that she and Denver were, "BFF even though he is a boy!" So cute and man is everyone growing up! We were able to stay till the first which meant we got to celebrate Miranda's 16the Birthday with her. Watch out boys!! She got her permit on her Birthday. She passed the written test with no problems but failed the vision test. So she got to go and get glasses for her birthday! Fun! As all good things come to an end, we had to leave on the first to return to the real world! Since it was not only Miranda's Birthday but news years eve, we stayed up packing and talking till midnight, not smart considering we had to wake up at 3am to get to the sirport for our 6am flight. Then we had a long drive ahead of us. After loading up and discussing options we made a decision that added time to our trip but was definately worth it. We took a four hour detour up to Rexburg and saw our friends and most of all were able to go to the temple open house. It was amazing! The temple, full size is gorgeous and huge! It was a neat experience to be able to walk through the temple. It was neat to see the completed baptisimal font, and for Darwin to show me exactly where he worked on it. It was great. After that we got on the road again. We made it to Boise and had to crash. Both of us running on about three hours of sleep we knew we couldn't drive the final three hours. We arrived safely home this morning at around 9:30 cold and exhausted. After unloading the car and deciding the rest could wait I called a baby sitter for the boys so Darwin and I could sleep, they slept plenty in the car! As we sat on the bed taking our shoes off, so looking forward to a nap.... we noticed that as we placed our feet back on the floor that it was soaking wet and freezing. A pipe from our water heater burst and leaked the entire time we were gone. So we have spent today, sorting through the wet closet and seeeing how bad the damage is. Water leaked across the entire room and we pretty much have had to tear our master bedroom apart. My clean house for our arrival is now covered with bedroom stuff strewn everywhere. Luckily we have renter insurance though! The biggest tragedy so far as far as the damage goes in my opinion is my wedding dress. Although it was hanging in a plastic bag and the opposite side of the closet, it managed to soak up water to about waist high and started molding. Hopefully with a good dry cleaner they'll be able to slavage it. Anyhow, Hope things are well for everyone! We are glad to know that Karen's house didn't burn down!! I gave my mom a lesson on how to use the family blog so hopefully we will see her here more! Love to you all! The Johnsons

Oh Candace - that's terrible! I know what an exhausting drive that can be, and to have a mess to come home to is just awful! Get your dress to a cleaner asap and maybe they can get it out. I had that problem with a little white dress, but sadly the cleaner couldn't do anything. Get on it woman! As if you don't have anything else to do...
You sure do have rotten luck!! After spending time with your family, to go home to a mess alike that, it must have been awful! I am so sorry to hear about your dress. Like Roberta said, hurry and get it to the cleaners and hopefully it will come out. It was WONDERFUL to see you and your darling family! We can't wait to see you again in July!
