Here is an update on Porter. He has been moved out of the ICU and will probably be sent home on Monday sometime. Candace is really nervous about caring for Porter on her own but we all know she will do an amazing job!
Porter got his drain removed today, so now they will wait to see if he will end up needing a shunt. Little Porter is a trooper! He is in a great deal of pain, very swollen and uncomfortable. But he keeps reassuring everybody that he will be OK. Last night after they moved him Darwin said to Porter "give us a smile" he looked over at them gave them a quick smile and then closed his eyes. Which was reassuring and very comforting for them all to see. Candace and Darwin did get to hold him last night. She said it was great to hold him and scary to. That is what has gotten her worried about caring for him especially when they are so far away from the hospital.
My mom and dad are going to the temple tomorrow morning and then up to Seattle on Saturday. They have to head home on Monday morning- they wanted to push their flight back but-- too much $$$!
Anyways that is the latest news- it is killing me not to be there but atleast I can keep everyone updated. Thanks again for all your prayers- We love you all.

You are an amazing hospital correspondent. Keep up the good work. Karen
I'm sure the doctors would not allow them to take Porter home if they were not confident that Candace and Darwin could handle his care. We will continue to keep all their names on the Temple prayer rolls.
Thanks again for keeping us updated. That's one thing that Candace won't have time for once they're home.
