A Monday greeting from Andrew:

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!! (soon)

          this week has been interesting for us and really wet and i am not looking forward to the next few stroms that people tell us are going to hit this week cause we have to walk in it- hooorayyy!!!  Not. but it rained really hard on thursday or friday and my shoes are now dry after sitting in front of our heater for hours on end. but it is all good. That is what makes missions worth it when you have to rough it for a few days in the cold and wet, but that is what makes it fun as well. We have had a bit of a slow week and we are really trying to find new people to teach so that we can keep the members out here pumped to do missionary work and to talk to their friends about the gospel.

           We did have one really cool experience while we were tracting yesterday. We went to tract a street that was near where we were having dinner and started. The first door was this teenage girl that was home alone so we tried to talk to her about her belief in Christ and she was Not open to share it with us and so we asked if we could come back and talk to her parents and she said "no they would probably kick you out," so we testified to her and then left her a card.   The next person we talked to had one of my favorite excuses for not talking to us about how he can change his life, and I quote, "Nope can't talk busy playing my video game," so i asked him "when can we come by when you are not playing your game," in response he told us "there isn't a time cause i don't want to hear it" and slam goes the door.  As you can tell this street is starting off great :) but it gets even better.   After we get through the houses and talk to about a third of the people on the street, we come to the very last door on the street.  It doesn't look like any one is home but we knock on it and this kid in his 20's answers the door. I let Elder Gubler take the lead on this door and he starts off well and he sowly starts to run out of things that he can say and looks to me with some desperate eyes saying "help?"  I step in and talk to him more about the book of mormon and how he can find out and find answers to questions he has about the bible. We gave him the book of mormon and he said that he would read and pray to know if it was true.  He also said that we could come back and talk to him more about it. He was an answer to our prayer as we started to tract and look for new people to teach. He is and awesome guy really looking to find out more about God and is really open to everything. It amazes me how some people are waiting to hear more about the book of mormon and the church and I am glad that I get to meet some of the precious people the God is working on.

            I have also realized this week how powerful our thoughts are on what our life, day, attitude, or anything will be like. Everything starts up top in your head.  I was reading out of the Miricle of Forgiveness which is a really good book, and President Kimball was talking about that.  I think he was quoting someone and he said in some way " if you think that you can, or that you can't, you are right" and i thought about that a lot and it helped me see that what ever we desire to do or achieve, and we think we can or we can't, we are right with that thought. cause if you think i can't lose that weight, or run that far, or get the job, you are right - you won't get those things, cause you don't do the hard work or even have the attitude that you can do it. if you have the attitude and you still don't get it, God will let you know in some way that he has other plans for you. that is why we must always have the "i can" attitude cause there are greater blessings behind the hard work that we will put forth and it may not be easy to acheive what we want but it will be worth it in the end.  keep the positive attitude and move forward with life and enjoy it, cause that is our purpose - to have joy. i love you all and wish the best of luck to eat as much food as you can, have a great week.
