This was the lastest excitement at our house. We had an electric mattress pad short out and melt right thru the comforter, blanket, sheets, and the memory foam topper. I'd taken it out of the closet to see if it still worked, so it was just laying on top of the bed. I turned it on and we went to have dinner. It was nice and warm when we checked it but several hours later, we started smelling this really nasty smell and when the bedroom was opened, the room was full of black toxic smoke. Richard was here for a movie and he graabbed everything and threw it outside while everybody was coughing and trying to get outside too. So Bonnie and Ben have been sleeping in the "Love Boat" (two couches pushed together,) while we try to air out the room or in reality, repaint it and scrape the acoustics off the ceiling. Paul and Diann were here to help keep Grandma busy and calm us down. So...all of you!! Check your electric cords! Karen

Oh my goodness! I am so glad that nobody was hurt!! Its so scary to think of stuff like that happening. We all think that things like that will never happen to us, and it happens when we least expect it!
