We are very glad to rejoin the 21st century. Our power is back on!!! You may have heard that the PNW took quite a beating this past weekend. We had hurricane force winds Thurs night that took out the power to 1.1 million people including us. All our trees stayed up but there are trees on power lines everywhere. Church was cancelled today because most building didn't have electricity back on yet. Ours came on this morning at 5 am after a freezing night. We got to use the generator that we bought just for this purpose about 8 years ago. It was nice to be able to keep the refrigerators cold and a few lights on. We did our best at keeping Grandma warm, but that's always tough. The power companies think they'll have most customers back online by the end of the week but some not until after Christmas! We are counting our blessings! We are excited about Lauren and Bonnie being home for Christmas. Bonnie is bring a significant young man home with her named Ben and then they are going to Heber to visit his family before she relocates to Syracuse, NY to be nearer him. We're excited to get to meet him. We will post Christams greetings and hopefully pictures later. Love to all, Karen

Holy Cow! We felt the crazy winds here too! And we are about seven hours from the coast! Glad to hear you are well. Is Bonnie going to still be teaching? How does Lauren like School? How is she getting home? I wish we would stuck around longer in Rexburg and that we could have hung out more oh well. We are planning a trip up to Seattle in June of next year, I'm in a wedding...fun...I'll let you know more about that when it is closer. Love you
We totally lucked out, other than getting stuck in the car behind a downed tree. We only had a flicker in the power, but it was a big enough storm that Carly's school was 1 out of the 2 in the entire district that was closed on Friday. She was actually quite sad that she wouldn't be able to go to school! Glad to hear that you're starting to warm up :)
Aaaah, to be warm and well lit! (electrically speaking). Too bad you missed those great rolls... We'll see you when we get back.
