Linda has suggested, and I agree, we should invite the family and friends to fast for Chanel on this Sunday, Dec. 7th. I sent her a text message tonight just to say we were thinking of her and she answered me immediately. She said the hospital is treating her very well. I asked how the food was, KNOWING she would get the joke, and she did!! She said they are giving her the expensive formula that the insurance company has refused to pay for. So now they are paying for it AND the hospital stay! Love the irony in that!! Her visiting teacher video recorded people at our ward Christmas party tonight wishing her well. I told her we were going to fast for her and she was very grateful. I said, "Get ready to feel the power!" Thanks family! We love you all and are so thankful for the love and support that we provide each other. We believe in the power of fasting and prayer and I know Chanel WILL feel it!! Love, Karen

I have Guillain Barré Syndrome. This is a serious disorder where your immune system attacks your nervous system causing debilitating muscle weakness and severe body pain. I am awaiting PICC line placement so we can begin vigorous IVIG treatment for five days. Following that I will start inpatient physical therapy to regain muscle control. I am pretty out of it, unable to lift my extremities including my head, and in an incredible amount of pain. We still don't have a for sure timeline but sounds like I will be here for ten days at least.
