Clara Louise
McNeely Harding
1929~2015
Born at home in Thatcher Utah on September 16 1929. She passed away gently at home in Sandy Utah on July 19, 2015. Simply put, "Home was her haven." Daughter of Cecil B and Jennie Anderson McNeely. Clara was raised with two sisters and six brothers whom she loved dearly and in her last days spoke of often. Survived by her brother, Lyle D. McNeely.
Clara married her sweetheart, DeWayne L. Harding, November 26, 1947 when he returned from WWII. They were later sealed in the Logan Temple and were blessed with four children. Twin boys, David Cecil (Doreen) Daniel Lon (Elaine) who were born in Alaska as they were stationed at Big Delta during the Korean War. Two daughters, Sue Ann George (Samuel) Christy Lynne Andrews (Bruce) who both lovingly cared for her in her home during her most difficult last days. Her children were her pride and joy and her most treasured roles were that of wife and mother.
As a devoted member of the LDS faith, Clara served in the RS, Sunday School and Primary but most joyfully served as a Stake Missionary by her eternal companion's side and touched many lives with her testimony of Christ.
Handwork, cooking, baking and home decorating were but some of Clara's many talents. But freely sharing and giving of herself was her greatest talent. Her fourteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren were blessed by such talent and her legacy will live on in the hearts of her sweetheart, children, and grandchildren all of whom gathered at her bedside with expressions of love as she returned to her heavenly home.
Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral to be held Saturday August 1, 2015 at 11am at the East Dell LDS Chapel 2300 E. 9800 S. Sandy, Utah. A viewing to be held Friday July 31, 2015 from 6-8pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens 1950 E. 10600 S. Sandy, Utah and prior to the funeral service from
