Its official!! I will have been a missionary for a whole YEAR in two days!! So CRAZY! I remember when my trainer was telling me about how crazy it felt to be out a year and how she was going home so soon and all these things!! AND NOW ITS ME!! AHHH Now I am the one who has to start telling myself "No don't get that you are only going to use it for 6 months!! SO I will see you all very soon! So if there are any letters or bags of dark chocolate you have been meaning to send me then you are gonna wanna send them soon because before you know it I will be coming up the escalator in the SEATAC airport!
I cant remember anything that happened this week! We taught Aubri this week twice. It is always awesome when we can see her often during the week because then you are able to spiritually prepare the investigator for the NEXT lesson. The spirit that they have with them is stronger and they are more likely to keep their commitments.
Example: As we were leaving the lesson I exclaimed "Aubri! We didn't commit you to read anything!!" She laughed and said "give me a good story! I mean something GOOD! Something about family!" I couldn't think of anything uplifting about family in the Book of Mormon (sorry I am not a Book of Mormon master YET) but I gave her 1 nephi 7 which is the story of when Lamen and Lemual tied Nephi up and were going to beat him up but an Angel came and stopped them. We came back two days later and she tells me "well I didn't get what was happening...so I started from the beginning" DO YOU HEAR THAT??? SHE DIDN'T GET WAS HAPPENING SO SHE READ SEVEN CHAPTERS IN TWO DAYS SO SHE COULD UNDERSTAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE HER SO MUCH!!!
I love Aubri so much, it kind of stabs me anytime she suggests that she wait to get baptized. I know she knows it is true. When we were talking to her about the pre-earth life she kind of joked about her knowing me before this life and I stopped her "Aubri, I know we did. You and I fought together! WE WERE WARRIORS FOR GOD TOGETHER!" I keep having these moments with Aubri where we both are acting like we are joking but we both know we are serious. And she stopped me "you really think so?" "Uh yeah Aubrey, I know it. I cant remember images but I know it in my heart. You were a tough nut back then. You cant back down now! That was just the beginning of the battle!" she laughed, BUT SHE KNOWS! SHE KNOWS!!!
That is something that my mission has really taught me, that it is important to know who we were before this life. And I am not talking specifics. But it is so essential for us to be able to stick with eternal promises we made with God, to know that we were his elect! Of all the people God ever has created He selected US. Saved everyone that is alive at this very moment to fight for Him in the last years before the war is over. We are His last hope. Does that not make you want to be better! We have been called to do a work that must be done NOW!
I know with all my heart that if you ask God, He will tell you who you were in the pre-earth life. Who you were when you were a spirit with God. He will tell you, and it will change you.
I know that if you do not know or understand what Gods purpose and plan is for you that there is an answer. You can know. I am so grateful that I have had the gift and blessing to share with others that plan. It is truly the plan of happiness. And plus that lesson we get to use cut outs. So you know its just over all super awesome.
Quick funny story from this week. We are driving down the road and Sister Mcregor just shrieks "TURTLE!" I then realize that the brown blob on the road is not an old t-shirt, but yes...a turtle. She of course is very distressed even though I manage to keep him between my tires. "We have to go back!!" I am not very sympathetic for the silly turtle but I figure it was inspired because I told her "Animal rescue mission activate!!" So we flip around and Sister McGregor almost dies when she jumps in front of a car to pick up this stinking turtle! The turtle is flailing all over the place but is placed to safety by animal rescue team member Sister McGregor. It was a good deed for the week!
We had interviews with president and I didn't cry the WHOLE TIME!! It was sad though because it was our last interview with President McDonough
So Sister McGregor and I are going to be taking a stroll through historical Laurels Downtown so expect lots of pictures this next p-day!
Love y'all!!!
Sister White
