Day Fifteen
Hello Family and Friends.
This is Chanel. I dont really have the energy for a long post but I wanted to keep you all up to date. I really hesitate to post these photos, but my goal is to spread awareness not false advertisement. These are some brutal photos in the thick of my stay. Being sick is not always smiles, though I try very hard to portray it as such.
The last 5 days consisted of being diagnosed with aseptic meningitis and C Difficile. When ever I seem to take a step forward I take at least five back. We have those two issues now under control and I am beginning to improve. I am becoming more mobile as well, using a walker to get to and from the bathroom.
I had surgery yesterday to place a Power Port in my chest; this is a central line to the heart since I have blown every vein in my arms and hands. Surgery went smooth but I'm very sore.
We got the good news today that I will be transferred to inpatient physical rehabilitation at another local hospital in the area.
I will be sure to write a detailed update of the last 15 days when I feel up to it as so many things have transpired. My life has truly changed since I entered here. I don't think I will ever be the same; however, I will continue to fight with as much strength as I can muster.

Chanel, what a wonderful gift you are to those around you. Your faith and endurance in the face of such extreme trials never ceases to amaze me! We are blessed to have you in the family and to have you teach us and those around you how to endure with grace. Surely you are in Father in Heaven's hands and he has a purpose for all He has called upon you to bear. Uncle Dave and I are on a mission but so are you. It is just a different assignment than we have. Be strong and continue to have faith. You and Noel will be helped through this as you have been with everything else. Uncle Dave and I send you our love.
