Sarah Missionary Letter #7 from Vicksburg: 7/ 21/14
So! This week was good! It went by so quickly, with weekly planning and transfers...and correlation meetings and ward counsel!! A lot of missionary stuff but not a lot of missionary WORK!
On Wednesday Heavenly Father helped me eat peppers. I do not like peppers. And one of the Spanish families in our ward made fried stuffed bell peppers! But I actually liked them! So I guess I am growing up!
We actually tracted into this lady, who said, “Of course y'all can come back! Is it okay if I make y'all supper?” We told her, “UH YEAH!!” We met her after we went over to a member’s house to teach one of our investigators who DIDN'T SHOW UP! I always feel so bad when that happens! But especially if the members go to the store and buy food JUST for our meeting! I wrote him a thank you note but it still doesn't feel like enough! But he let us practice the Restoration lesson and he told the Relief Society President that we gave the best discussion he had EVER heard! He is 80 years old, so if he meant it, then we must have rocked that discussion!
I have fire ant and mosquito bites all over my ankles from tracting in that neighborhood, it is all swamp! But we have 10 people with a baptismal date! WOO!! GO VICKSBURG SOUTH!!
We have to teach one of our progressing investigators in this park because her children (who are abused by their whole family) get so excited when we come over, mostly because we actually show them love and kindness ... But I decided going on a mission was worth it, just so all of these children (who have horrible lives) can see someone; even if it is just once a week, who will squeeze them and tell them they are loved.
I love you to the moon and back!
